You know, I’m a novice in this blogging arena.

So I am here to tell you that I had a great blog entry done … and as I was finishing it up … it disappeared … Well, all but the last two paragraphs. And a quote.

The pictures are all still out here. But no blog words.

Quick! Undo, undo, undo … oh … right … there is no undo button.

I went to look at the code … and saw a whole lot of things that looked like this:

Now being a web programmer from a way back, I recognized this for what it was.

Nothing.

Or more specifically, a blank space … in technical jargon. In fact a whole lot of Nothing. So I flipped back to the Visual view.

Nope, still only the two paragraphs and the quote. So I flipped back to the Text view to count and see if there was one “ ” for each paragraph and picture I had put out there. Sherlock Holmes in action.

And there was …. nothing … none of the “ ”s that had been there before.

So, besides swearing to only use an outside text editor from now on … oh and a little authentic good old-fashioned swearing …  I decided to attempt to recreate what I just took an hour to write … that I lost …

Really.

Nothing like trying to recreate spontaneous creativity here.

A very few words into that effort and I started to realize how good what I had previously written really was. What a time to realize that maybe what folks have been telling me about having talent might actually be true.

So I made an honest effort to find the much promised drafts that were to be saved automatically. You know, the twenty-five blog saves that are supposed to be out here?

And there were two.

One from a second before and one from three minutes prior. Neither of which had my full blog saved.

Even tried to find the Trash in hopes that it had accidentally been put there … by me. But all that was in the Trash was one lonely blog effort from a few days into this whole Project. Nothing worth restoring for sure. And certainly not my Ice Cream Irony blog either.

So I went in search of any Support entries … anything that might salvage my work. And I came across this fine print:

The problem with posts disappearing when saved as a draft has been around for a while, but only seems to hit a small number of people randomly.

Oh lucky me.

Gone.

Lost forever in the bit-bucket in the sky.

I was going to really rant and rave here. Was tempted to call this Oxymorons in Moronville … but then that wouldn’t be true to the Happy Holly Project Mantra, would it?

So I went and got my hair done. That made me happy. Now I don’t have to do it before the funeral tomorrow.

But its not the Ice Cream Land blog entry.

That was great.

You’d have loved it.
