Also known as The Best Laid Plans.

I had a weekend all planned out.

A long online chat with a friend. A baby shower for the daughter of a friend. Sunday brunch with a few other friends.

Then came a call from my elderly Dad. Who is being rushed to the hospital. Two hours away.  Leaving my Mom alone and unattended.

Oh, and did I mention the ice storm that is currently happening outside?

So now … from a great distance … plans are being made to care for Mom, transport Dad, and drive to where they are ASAP.

But I am thinking ASAP might have to be tomorrow AM.

I REALLY do not want to drive on the ice … which of course is an oxymoron.
