… who has never read Harry Potter?

Because I woke up this morning to a lot of hoopla on the web about the thirty-third birthday of the boy wizard. Who knew?

Well, I am guessing my friend Andrew Slack, who is the Executive Director of the Harry Potter Alliance knew …  but other than him and his minions …

Born on August 1st, 1980. Let’s see … I was … changing diapers on my first-born … who would have been slightly over two months old at the time.

I would have been thinking about my ten-year High School Class Reunion.

Wishing I could lose fifty pounds before it happened (I didn’t).
Hoping my High School Crush would be there (he wasn’t).
Praying the milk wouldn’t let down in the middle of it all (it did).

You know … the ten-year reunion? The one where you are going to go back looking better, successful, and all the things you weren’t when you were in High School.

Yeah, that one.

But back to today. I thought someone said it was also JK Rowlings birthday today.

It isn’t.

That was yesterday. Which means that on this day in 1980 she was … well, I don’t know what she was doing … but she was only fifteen years old at the time she was doing it.

In an odd quirk of fate, today is my friend Texas Linda’s birthday as well.

She wasn’t born in 1980 either. (or 1970, or 1960, or … whatever)

 And although she is not a wizard, she has had some pretty magical times in her life.

So I wish Harry Potter and Texas Linda a very Happy Birthday.

And … what is the feminine word for wizard anyway?
