… how much I hate getting sick?
Specifically getting a cold?
Like I have today?
This started on Friday when I woke up … throat scratchy … mild soreness … and the occasional sneeze here and there.
So I immediately took a Zinc lozenge. Just like they tell you to.
And once again, I am struck by the fact that a regular cold takes seven days to get through, but one treated with Zinc only takes one week.
Cancelling all my Friday plans, I once more escaped to the lake for one last weekend.
I figured I could lay in bed looking out at the lake just as easily as I could lay in bed looking at the four walls of my house.
Turns out most everyone up there had a cold, too. Go figure.
The oddest thing, though, happened in the middle of the night … Saturday night … as I was awake and reading the latest book.
Main Character in love with long time friend … his Mother deeply moved by something or another … and the line “As she reached for a tissue …”
At exactly the moment that I read “As she reached for a tissue …” my nose opened the floodgates … and as Calvin said in the strip above … I started leaking brain fluid. Well, maybe it was only the cold. But it started running out of my nose.
Like a faucet.
And it has not stopped since.
Add a liberal dosage of sneezing and watery eyes and you pretty much have the picture of what I look like right about now.
No, I am not posting a picture.
I just want you to feel really, really sorry for me.
*sneezes*
Any chance this will be gone by tomorrow night for my radio shift?
