It had to happen. Eventually. And today was that day.
But I am so grateful that I did it.
Getting the room here at the Hotel on the lake. For the summer. Each weekend and holiday and then some.
Meeting so very many nice people all through the summer … most on the porch as I sat drinking coffee and typing on my laptop computer each morning.
So many images will be ingrained in my mind as I take the time to finish the story I have been writing this past summer.
One last sunrise …
The smiling person … responsible for getting coffee started each morning … and lending a supportive shoulder.
And the chair and footstool I sat on each morning … typing away … as folks came and went … married and celebrated and families reunited and joyous partying.
The key I carried in my pocket here all summer … and took home with me each week … the promise of yet another weekend … but don’t tell the owners.
There was the cat … Tuxedo … who was extremely friendly … especially when you share your food.
And the not so friendly flying creature who was calmly walking on my hand this morning … until I shooed him away … to my computer screen.
I would post pictures of my room here, but that is my own private memory. The safe place with the bowed out area and the antique claw foot tub …
… and the view of the lake from my window.
Words cannot describe the way this summer affected me. How this place became a safe refuge in times of chaos, a place to see incredible weddings put together by a truly dedicated staff, and above all … the calm mornings … the healing peace that only water can provide me.
The touching scenes and the places of my childhood … the old memories and new friends … the family visits and the quiet moments of reflection.
This was a summer to be remembered and cherished.
And just for fun here are a few other pictures I snapped this morning.

Ya learn something new everyday. It’s true I guess!

Damn, I wish I could think of something smart like that!

There are certainly a lot of delaits like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.

Aw… another season over. It was so nice to have met you there. The Lake is a beautiful place to be and relax. I do hope that next season will bring you back at least once or twice, if not all season. Until then, I will continue to read your adventures here. 🙂

Thanks! It was great seeing you there as well … more than once. It is tempting to have a “do over” next year, isn’t it?
