al-jazeera, Boston.com, Breitbart, Daylight saving time, fake headlines, Mark Kelly, National Park Service, New York Times, nuclear attack, Paul Krugman, Phil Stone, pope benedict xvi, postaday, Sarah Palin, South Korea, Swiss Guard
So many things are reported in the news. And as I have proven here, anyone can write something that folks might read … and believe.
And ever since the news caught my attention the other day locally here with the quote “An elderly man, oh around in his early fifties, has died in a fire …” I have been paying closer attention.
To the facts. I mean, if it is on the internet, it must be true, right?
So I figured I would share some of the recent headlines that caught my attention.
And of course these all were reported as truth.
The Pope Is Gay
The Italian media is reporting that Pope Benedict XVI resigned after receiving the results of an internal investigation, delivered in a 300-page, two-volume dossier, that laid bare a sordid tale of blackmail, corruption and gay sex at the Vatican.
The respected Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported Friday that the report stamped “Pontifical Secret,” contained “an exact map of the mischief and the bad fish” inside the Holy See.
And of course there have been headlines all over saying “The Pope Is Out.”
Well, seriously, have you seen the Swiss Guard?
Mount Rushmore Is Adding Obama
You may recall reading it here on November 19, 2012 … that the National Park Service announced the change to the monument to add our current President.
The modification to the monument is scheduled to begin in late 2015, with a target date of September, 2018 for completion. The official announcement will be made Monday morning at the NPS’ Washington DC offices.
This is one of several tentative renderings, vetted by sculptor Irving Gneus who is overseeing the project for the Park Service:
Phil Stone from the New York Times’ interviewed Gneus for this week’s Sunday Magazine: “This is an American monument, not a Democratic or Republican monument.”
If you have not read my other blog post, you just might want to read it … closely.
Mark Kelly Buys Assault Weapon As A Straw Purchaser
On March 5, gun control proponent Mark Kelly bought an “assault rifle” and a semi-automatic handgun at Diamondback Police Supply, Tucson, AZ. On March 6, he attended a Tucson rally with his wife, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, to “call for tougher gun-control laws.”
This hypocritical man purchased the exact same weapon he purports to be against. Democrats may not be as enamored of him now after he got caught in flagrante delicto with an AR-15.
Daylight Saving Time Causes Global Warming
As reported in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette —
Daylight exacerbates warming
You may have noticed that March of this year was particularly hot. As a matter of fact, I understand that it was the hottest March since the beginning of the last century….
This should come as no surprise to any reasonable person. As you know, Daylight Saving time started almost a month early this year. You would think that members of Congress would ave considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate. Or did they?
Perhaps this is another plot by a liberal Congress to make us believe that global warming is a real threat. Perhaps the next time there should be serious studies before Congress passes laws with such far-reaching effects.

Paul Krugman Filed For Bankruptcy
As reported by Boston.com and later by the conservative website Breitbart, the leading economist Paul Krugman has filed for bankruptcy protection.
Details can be seen in this image of the article which was published on March 7, 2013.
John Fleming Urges Readers To Protest The Abortionplex
John Fleming, the Republican U.S. Representative from Louisiana was outraged by an article he read about an Abortionplex … and told his Facebook followers to read the article.
Fleming’s Facebook status was posted on February 6, 2013.
Here is an update Fleming posted (from Friday, according to the blogger) for his followers to read about Planned Parenthood’s “wholesale” approach to providing abortions:
How did he get elected, again?
Sarah Palin to Work For Al-Jazeera
Just weeks after leaving Fox News, Sarah Palin is bouncing back by joining the fledgling Al Jazeera America news network as a host and commentator.
The former vice presidential nominee confirmed today that she has signed a multi-million dollar deal to host her own shows and to provide commentary on United States issues for Al Jazeera, which is best known for its news coverage of the Middle East.
After leaving Fox News, Palin said she was hoping to reach a broader audience with her message. When contacted by phone, Palin said Al Jazeera – with its extensive international network – offered her the best opportunity to broadcast to millions of people.
Well, they say the only bad publicity is no publicity.
North Korea Threat
He cancelled the armistice that stopped the fighting and created a 60 year truce with South Korea. He cut off the hotline between North and South Korea that was designed to keep lines of communication open during a crisis.
And has threatened to “wipe out” the South Korean island of Baengnyeong. Here is a picture of him waving goodbye to his troops on the island as he leaves.
“Once an order is issued, you should break the waists of the crazy enemies,
totally cut their windpipes and thus clearly show them what a real war is like,”
Kim was quoted as saying by the Korean Central News Agency.
Well, OK … if you insist.
Of all the articles mentioned above, only one of them is true and accurate.
The last one.
The scariest one.
Does he seriously not realize how many nuclear devices we have at our disposal?
And how very angry we all get when people attack our country?
And even when they don’t.
He really needs to think this whole “nuclear attack on the US” thing through very, very carefully.
