… or words to that effect.

In yet another disconnect from the real world, it appears that … in addition to not having a clue about What The Fox Said … I had not ever heard about this poster which was popular in WWII.Keep-calm-and-carry-on-scan

Keep Calm and Carry On was a motivational poster produced by the British government in 1939 several months before the beginning of the Second World War, intended to raise the morale of the British public in the aftermath of widely predicted mass air attacks on major cities.

OK. So I am not that old … but it turns out that they are doing variations on this theme. As in everyone is doing variations on this theme … recently.

First there was this variation 1375263_10201709198626256_1379439751_nin a recent comic strip by my favorite comic strip artist Stephan Pastis

He is the author of the Timmy Failure children’s books and the creator of the incredibly popular Pearls Before Swine comic strip.

You might remember him from one of the very first Happy Holly Project entries here. If I recall correctly it was the fourth blog entry I did here.

I met him. Live and in person.pb131021

OK. So he used to be a lawyer, but he has recovered from that, fortunately.

Now he is just a witty intelligent creative man who makes people laugh.

So it should not have surprised me that he also used a variation on this theme.

1378225_525738037517769_1720024485_nThen I came across one that was aimed specifically at writers.

You know … writers?

Those of us folks who fancy ourselves as people who can put words together for fun … and profit.

I swear they say you can make money writing. Beyond writing boring technical manuals, proposals and user guides.

That is the rumor.

I am going to trust them on that one.

So, having often used any excuse in the world rather than sitting down to write the book at hand … I laughed out loud at the seeing of this one.

But now here we are at T-6 for the NaNoWriMo project.

Plot ideas are ready. Outlines are outlined. Research is researched.

At least for the planners it is. For a pantser such as myself, the amount of planning I have done is more than enough.

Then I remembered the blog entry I did about writing styles … Am I A Pantser? Planner? Percolator? … and I realized that more than anything I was a Percolator.

drink-coffee-and-nano-onA drinker of coffee.

I even have a coffee mug that says “Writer Fuel” on the side.

And into this caffeine soaked brain came this variation on the theme.

Drink Coffee … of course … and NaNo On.

Carry On. Keep on writing.

Made me laugh out loud. So I went out to one of the many meme generators that lets you do a variation on a theme and I generated the image that you see here.

But that wasn’t enough.

I wanted a coffee mug with this on it.

Fortunately there are a lot of places on the internet that allow you to combine your creativity and their products.

Yes.

I did.

Should arrive in a few days here.

And, for those of you who might also want a coffee mug … that says Drink Coffee And NaNo On … I have created my very own CafePress store.

Yes.

You can.

Just go ahead and click here to get one.

And yes, while I was at it, I also put this on key chains, magnets, t-shirts, flasks and a few other things.

Maybe later I will do a Zazzle store.

Enjoy.
