Anyone can write a book, but not everyone should have a book published.

So says GoComics today. I wonder how much of what they posted is in the frenzy that started yesterday with the beginning of NaNoWriMo?

Must be a coincidence …

They followed this with a cadre of cartoons … but missing from the group was my favorite writing cartoon of all …

This was the line I used two years ago to start the rant plot line that I wrote in my very first NaNoWriMo novel.

Cool date to start writing in life.

Although it took me the better part of two years to realize that was the day it all started … and that the day looked really cool, number wise.

The article did, however include the following cartoons, which point out some of the problems that folks seem to have while starting and writing their NaNoWriMo novels.

There is that “getting started / inspiration” part …

… the “what shall I use for a pen name” part …

… the “plot development / letting someone else read your work” part …

nn2… and the “tying it all together” part.

nn5 But the part that crossed my mind the night it all began … as I came across writer after writer aged twenty or less in the various chats … was this one.

I’m thinking it’s easier that way.
