As Week Two of the month-long NaNoWriMo project begins I find myself employing more and more “avoiding behaviors”.
You know.
Write a little.
Make some coffee.
Write a little.
Write in personal journal instead.
Write a little.
Take a nap.
Write a little.
Chat on Facebook.
Today’s avoiding behaviors featured …
… a trip to get my hair and whatnot done (quite nice)
… phone call with an old friend (enlightening)
… a make over at the upscale cosmetic department (should have paid for the entertainment value alone)
… lunch with a friend (delicious)
… power nap (less power, more nap)
And now I find myself at the end of the day, more or less, with only several hundred more words in the bank for that which I “should” be doing.
I comfort myself with the fact that there have only been 11 days down out of 30 days to write.
At this rate, I’ll be done by January 27th, 2014.
That’s not in November.
But if I type at the rate of 2,186 words a day, I’m golden.
As long as I don’t take any more naps.
