Somehow today’s post reminds me of an old Johnny Carson intro. It was cold yesterday and last night and it will be again tonight.
My friend Chuck who lives in Arizona keeps taking screen shots of his weather forecast … with temperatures in the 70’s.
But it really is not so much a joke.
It’s so cold that I need to keep the water running to keep the pipes from freezing.
It’s so cold that my furnace can’t keep up … it’s 60 degrees downstairs even though the furnace is set at 74.
Although there are jokes out there about the cold.
It’s so cold that when we milked the cows, we got ice cream.
It’s so cold outside that the politicians have their hands in their own pockets.
It’s so cold, we had lunch at the Greasy Spoon just for the heartburn.
As Mark Twain once said, “If the thermometer had been an inch longer we’d all have frozen to death.”
I somehow am waiting for the drum to hit the rim shot in the background.
Last night it was minus 5 outside here and with wind chill felt like minus 22.
In Hell, MI and environs it was minus 8 outside and with wind chill feeling like minus 22.
Which begs the question … was it really as cold as all Hell outside?
Brrrrrr………I’m up North in this tiny little patch of green on the weather map that hasn’t been affected by the weather at all. We’re downright tropical, although the dark gloom has been so bad this year, it’s as if daylight simply checked out two months ago.

Seems like daylight checked out? That’s only because it DID checkout. But I hear rumor to the effect that it will be back before too long.

Hello to my new favorite blog! Thanks for poistng my photo of this awesome lady and her dog. I had to put her on my blog a couple of weeks ago because she’s been such a big part of my life for so long. Who would ever endeavor to donate this to a thrift store?
